Built to Last

Built to Last

We've spent this week talking about how incredibly well the human body was designed to adapt.
Stress isn't always something we need to fear or avoid. With the right challenge and the right opportunity to recover, our bodies can adapt and become more resilient.
Interestingly, Scripture teaches us a similar principle about our faith.
📖 James 1:2–4
“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”
Think about that progression:
CHALLENGE → PERSEVERANCE → GROWTH
James doesn't tell us that we won't face difficult things.
He tells us that difficult things can produce something within us.
🏋️ Muscles grow when appropriately challenged and given time to recover.
🧠 Our bodies continually learn and adapt to the demands placed upon them.
❤️ And spiritually, trials can develop perseverance, maturity, and a deeper dependence on God.
Sometimes we spend so much energy asking God to remove the challenge that we forget to ask:
“God, what are You developing in me through this?”
Maybe the goal isn't always to avoid the pressure.
Maybe sometimes it's to become stronger through it.
Your body was created to adapt—and God can use the challenges of life to grow something within you as well.
💚 Built to Heal.
Built to Move.
Built to Adapt.
BUILT TO LAST.
“The testing of your faith produces perseverance.”
— James 1:3
