The Belief That Changes Everything

The Belief That Changes Everything

From toddler phone calls to life-changing health goals

“I know, I know… Dinosaurs are crazy… roar… I’m going to get a juice… I like robot movie (Wild Robot).”

I looked up from my computer to see Ethan (almost 3) holding a toy phone to his ear, having a full-blown conversation.

It was so convincing that I almost wondered if someone was actually on the other end.

But to Ethan, there was—and he fully believed it.

The Power of Belief

As adults, we often treat belief as something reserved for kids. Somewhere along the way, we stop believing in ourselves.

Like me, you probably set goals—thoughtful, well-intended goals. But then… you quit. You throw in the towel.

Why?

It comes down to belief.

  • Do I believe I’m worthy of this goal?
  • Do I believe I can achieve it?
  • Do I have the courage to see it through?

For me, that battle has always been weight loss. Every year, I’d set the goal. And every year, I’d quit.

A Different Year

This year has been different. Over the summer, I lost about 50 pounds and slipped back into clothes I hadn’t worn in years—without the “shots.”

For a long time, I believed I’d never weigh under 300 pounds. At one point, I was creeping toward 400. My heaviest: 370 pounds.

Oddly enough, my belief shifted after a simple blood test. My testosterone was severely low, and something had to change.

Beyond Muscles

Testosterone isn’t just about sex or muscles. It plays a huge role in heart health, energy, and even mental wellbeing.

In the last 9 months, I’ve increased my testosterone 4.5x—not from a magic pill, but from belief in action.

  • Starting point: T-level at 143. I cleaned up my diet (still cheated some), and six months later it jumped to 404.
  • The shift: Seeing that measurable change lit a fire of belief.
  • Three months later: After cutting dairy and gluten, intensifying workouts, and adding fasting, my T-levels hit 637.

The result? 50 pounds gone. Vitamin D levels doubled. Energy like I haven’t felt in years.

Small Wins, Big Belief

Belief is what changed—and everything else followed.

Start with small, objective, measurable goals. Check the boxes. Stack the wins. And before long, the greatest win will be belief in yourself.

P.S. My boys have their own “belief system.” They swear they’re too full to eat another bite of dinner… only to march straight to the cabinet for snacks.
